East London has excellent public transport. Not only is it served by the Jubilee line, the DLR, London Overground and an extensive bus network, but it’s due to be hooked up to Crossrail in December 2018
The latter has already seen a huge rise in prices along its route, with buyers and developers anticipating the greater connectivity it will bring.
Sometimes though, there are times in life where only a cab will do.
We all know about Uber, but I want to take the time to give my personal recommendation to the services of Carrot Cars.
This Isle Of Dogs-based company covers postcodes across east London and the West End, has a smart fleet of cars driven by uniformed drivers and has won multiple awards for its services.
Better still, you can get free rides from Canary Wharf or the Isle Of Dogs to both The Gun pub in Blackwall (my fave, with details online here) and The Narrow on the Thames at Limehouse with a booking (restrictions apply to both deals).
Aside from getting to the best pubs in the area for lunch, it’s a company that doesn’t stand still, having developed its own app to get you 10% off bookings and uses satellite technology to send its nearest vehicles to you when you hire a cab.
The firm serves all London airports and its drivers wear orange ties, so, if you’re an owner or tenant in east London, why use anyone else?
